Pre-assembly area
Pre-assembly area grandstand – area for preparing sub-assemblies before the main construction
What is a pre-assembly area?
A pre-assembly area is a defined area on or near the event site where grandstand components are pre-assembled before being lifted or moved into their final position. Pre-assembly significantly speeds up the main construction process, as sub-assemblies can be joined more efficiently on the ground than at height.
Pre-assembly areas in the Bender assembly planning
Bender plans to integrate pre-assembly areas as an integral part of the construction process. On these areas, beams, decking modules, and railing sections are assembled into larger units. These units are then moved into their final positions using lifting and transport equipment and connected to the main supporting structure. The pre-assembly area must be sufficiently large and easily accessible.
Space requirements for the pre-assembly area
The pre-assembly area must be large enough to assemble full-size components and maneuver transport equipment. Bender defines the required area in the site plan.
Advantages of pre-assembly
Pre-assembly on the ground is faster, safer, and more convenient than assembly at height. It reduces workplace accidents and shortens the overall assembly time.
