Line of sight
Stand view – optimal view of the pitch for all spectators
What is the line of sight in grandstands?
The line of sight is the theoretical connecting line between the spectator's eye and the point of view on the event area – typically the field markings or center of the stage. A good line of sight means that no other spectator or obstacle interrupts this line. The C-value quantitatively describes how far the spectator can see beyond the heads of the people in front of them.
Sightline optimization at Bender grandstands
Bender Tribünen simulates sightlines for all seats in a planned grandstand. The planning team calculates step height, angle of inclination, and row spacing to ensure an unobstructed view of the event from every seat – from the first to the last row. Special situations such as curved grandstands or asymmetrical layouts are also taken into account.
Line of sight and C-value
The C-value is the key indicator for sightline quality. It describes how many millimeters a spectator's view extends beyond the line of sight of the row in front. Bender optimizes the C-value individually for each stand.
Normative requirements for sight lines
DIN EN 13200 specifies minimum requirements for sightline conditions. Bender typically exceeds these requirements significantly, offering viewers a comfortable viewing experience.
