Fire protection

Fire protection for grandstands – material requirements and measures for safe event venues

What does fire safety regulation cover for grandstands?

Fire protection for grandstands encompasses structural and organizational measures for fire prevention and containment. Requirements concern the building material classes (flame-retardant), escape route widths, fire department accessibility, and fire extinguishing agents. The legal basis is the German Ordinance on Places of Assembly (VStättVO) and state building codes.

Fire safety compliant construction with Bender grandstands

Bender Tribünen uses only materials that meet current fire safety requirements. Textile coverings and roofs are made of flame-retardant materials (building material class B1 according to DIN 4102). The steel and aluminum supporting structure is non-combustible. Bender coordinates fire safety planning with the event organizer's safety concept.

Fire extinguishers and fire watch posts

The number and location of fire extinguishers are specified in the fire protection concept. Bender coordinates these requirements and ensures that all specifications are met.

Fire department access routes

Fire engines must be able to access the grandstand from at least one side. Bender takes fire department access routes into account when planning the setup and adheres to the required distances and widths.
