Emergency exit
Emergency exit grandstand – standard-compliant emergency exits for safe evacuation at major events
What is an emergency exit in grandstands?
An emergency exit is a specially secured, permanently unobstructed exit for the evacuation of the spectator area in case of emergency. It must be freely accessible at all times, clearly marked, and sufficiently wide. The relevant standards are the German Ordinance on Places of Assembly (VStättVO) and DIN EN 13200. Emergency exits must lead to safe areas outside the building structure.
Emergency exits in the Bender grandstands
Bender incorporates emergency exits as an integral part of every grandstand configuration. The number and width of the emergency exits are calculated based on capacity and applicable standards. All emergency exits are marked with standardized escape route pictograms and equipped with emergency lighting. The Bender planning team ensures that all regulatory requirements are met.
Marking of emergency exits
Emergency exits must be marked with standardized pictograms (a green walking figure on a green background) and illuminated even in the event of a power outage. Bender is coordinating the installation of the signage.
Emergency exits in the security concept
All emergency exits are shown in the safety concept and the deployment plan. Security personnel must be informed about the location and use of all emergency exits.
