Capacity planning
Grandstand capacity planning – reliably calculate maximum spectator capacity with Bender
What is capacity planning for grandstands?
Capacity planning is the calculation of the maximum permissible number of spectators that a grandstand can safely accommodate at one time. It takes into account the usable area, minimum standard dimensions per seat or standing place, escape route capacity, the load-bearing capacity of the structure, and official regulations. Accurate capacity planning forms the basis for access control, security concepts, and ticket sales.
Professional capacity planning by Bender grandstands
Bender Tribünen creates a precise capacity plan for every project as part of the overall planning. Seating, wheelchair spaces, VIP areas, and standing areas are specified separately. The results are documented in the setup plan and form the basis for approval. Bender has experience with events ranging from a few hundred to over 45,000 spectators – and understands the requirements for every size event.
Seating and standing room compared
Seating capacity is calculated according to DIN EN 13200 with minimum distances. Standing capacity is calculated as an area with a defined occupancy density. Bender sets occupancy densities conservatively to avoid overcrowding.
Capacity and ticketing
The approved capacity forms the basis for ticket allocation. Exceeding this capacity is not permitted by the authorities. Bender assists event organizers in determining realistic capacity figures early in the planning process.
