Anchoring
Grandstand anchoring – secure fastening against tipping, sliding and lifting under wind load
What is the anchoring of a grandstand?
Anchoring is the process of securing the grandstand to the ground to prevent it from tipping, sliding, or lifting under wind or horizontal loads. Anchoring measures include ground anchors, ground screws, earth anchors, or ballasted support points. The anchoring forces are calculated and specified in the structural stability analysis.
Anchoring concepts from Bender grandstands
Bender calculates the anchoring requirements individually for each installation site and wind load situation. Depending on the subsoil, different anchoring methods are used: ground screws in compacted soil, ground anchors in natural soil, or ballasting concepts for installation sites where no intervention in the subsoil is possible. All anchoring systems are verified in the stability analysis.
Anchoring under high wind loads
In wind-exposed locations – coastal areas, open spaces – anchoring requires special attention. Bender designs anchoring concepts that can safely dissipate even extreme wind loads.
Anchoring and subsoil protection
For sensitive flooring – such as artificial turf or parquet in halls – special anchors are used that do not damage the subfloor. Bender knows the right solution for every installation location.
